All systems/solutions from USG Ceilings Plus® are developed from a sheet of recycled aluminum that is punched via CNC and formed via automated press brakes. The pairing of these technologies with parametric modeling tools like Grasshopper, allows USG Ceilings Plus® to produce highly custom systems in very large quantities for about the same cost as a standard 2’x4’ metal-tile ceiling.

While it’s true that there are nearly limitless possible ways to configure these ceiling systems, CADE can help you with some key concepts to consider when optimizing a design for a brake-formed metal ceiling system.

Ceilings Plus® offers a wide variety of finishes: paint (standard or matched to a typical paint-chip reference), anodized aluminum (various colors), Saranté® (PVC-free, faux-wood laminate) and Arboreal® (real-wood veneer). And because Ceilings Plus® has modeled their process to accommodate engineered-to-order systems, there are no standard panel sizes: custom is standard, standard is custom.

As opposed to cataloging standardized panel sizes/finishes and asking the architects to design by those parameters, USG Ceilings Plus® excels at developing per-project solutions after reviewing any sketches/renderings available during SD, DD, and/or early CD phases of design.

Combined with CADE’s product experience and architectural guidance, USG Ceilings Plus® empowers designers with tremendous flexibility to confidently present innovative design concepts to clients without fear of constructibility.
